Yan Chen is currently a Senior Data Scientist at Wayfair where she is working on solving search and recommendation problems at scale. Before joining Wayfair, Yan was a research engineer in a NLP-based startup Agolo, where she built up their core end-to-end summarization engine. Prior to joining the industry, Yan was active in the academic community, working as a research scientist in AStar, a national research institute based out of Singapore. She also completed stints as a visiting scholar at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Noah's Ark (Huawei) in Hong Kong. Yan graduated with her Ph.D. degree from Beihang University, China, under the co-supervision of Prof. Zhoujun Li and Prof Tat-Seng Chua.
