At Wayfair, we know that creating a sense of home extends beyond our products. It includes supporting people and communities on their journey to safe, stable housing. In 2024, our commitment came to life through meaningful partnerships, hands-on volunteering and targeted community investments.
Partnering for Impact
We know that lasting change happens when we work together. That’s why Wayfair collaborates with trusted nonprofit partners who share our belief that everyone deserves a place to call home. Our nonprofit partners and projects include:

- Habitat for Humanity: More than 120 employees participated in eight Habitat builds across North America. Since 2012 Wayfair has contributed over $11 million to Habitat’s affordable housing programs, including product donations to ReStores in cities like Cincinnati and Jacksonville.
- Homes For Our Troops: We provided adaptive home furnishings and helped furnish a home for Marine LCPL Alberto Flores Jr. Since 2018, our support has totaled more than $1.5 million in customer and in-kind donations.
-
Connections for the Homeless: Near our first Wayfair store in Wilmette, Illinois, we sponsored the third annual Block Party in Evanston, Illinois. Our $50,000 contribution helped bring together nearly 1,000 community members. This effort builds on a $100,000 donation made during our Wilmette ribbon-cutting ceremony. We will continue to build on this initiative in 2025.
Investing in the Neighborhoods We Call Home
Wayfair’s impact starts from within. We’re proud to support the neighborhoods where our teams live and work by investing in local organizations, empowering employee-led giving and encouraging hands-on volunteer opportunities. As part of this plan, our recent company-wide initiatives and local employee engagement include:
- Wayfair Neighborhood Fund: With a $1 million launch in 2023, the fund directed $120,000 in grants to 12 local organizations in 2024 – all based on input from warehouse employees.
- Skills-Based Volunteering: Employees joined a pitch event with Housing Families and Fenway Community Development Corporation, and used their expertise to support housing stability and community well-being.
- Way Day Snack Bags: In partnership with Heading Home and Pine Street Inn, Wayfair teams packed snack bags for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.
Powered by Our People and Customers
Wayfair customers also play a role in our housing initiatives. Through our donate-at-checkout program, our customers contributed $260,000 in 2024 to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Homes For Our Troops and Community Solutions.

We’re also excited to share that Wayfair employees supported over 300 nonprofits through our matching program. Meanwhile, our Paid Day of Service empowered more than 430 employees to contribute 2,700 volunteer hours to causes including homeless shelters and housing partners.
A Shared Purpose
Wayfair’s housing strategy reflects our belief that business success and community impact go hand in hand. From building homes to investing in neighborhood programs, we are committed to making home more accessible for all.
