Meet John Enright, a learning and enablement manager within Wayfair’s B2C sales and service organization coming to you all the way from Cork, Ireland. In his role, John leads our learning experience design team where he oversees learning and coaching for managers and supports training for our partner teams.
As the ‘collaborative glue’ that keeps his team and stakeholders aligned, John helps our associates build the skills they need to support customers. He is widely praised by his colleagues, who describe him as “the exact type of professional every team hopes to have: an innovative thinker who pushes us forward, and a dedicated team player who always has our backs.”

What project or accomplishment are you most proud of during your time at Wayfair?
I’m especially proud of helping bring AI-powered customer simulations into our new-hire training for our customer service team. The simulations give learners a place to practice realistic conversations and build confidence before speaking with customers. It’s been a collaborative effort across learning design, curriculum, training and technology and it has been rewarding to see the team bring the experience to life.
What do you enjoy most about working at Wayfair?
I enjoy the way my work combines people and technology. I’ve had the opportunity to help shape learning experiences for our associates and work alongside smart, creative and passionate people across Wayfair and the broader learning community. I also appreciate Wayfair’s openness to exploring new technologies and finding thoughtful ways to use them.
How does your team stay energized during the busy seasons?
Our team focuses on creating learning experiences for others, but we’re learning from each other all the time, too. We share quick insights, demonstrate new processes we’ve picked up and help one another find fresh ways to bring ideas to life. There’s a strong culture of knowledge sharing and peer support across the learning teams I work with. My favorite moments are the light bulb moments, when someone shares something new and everyone starts imagining what they could do with it.
What are you doing when you aren’t working?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Morgan and our two dogs, Vinnie and Olive, or heading to the Beara Peninsula. I feel fortunate to live in Cork, a beautiful part of the world, where I enjoy hiking, taking photos and exploring the local food scene. I’m a big fan of baking bread and have recently started learning linocut printing. I’m also a keen record collector and enjoy seeing live music. One of my favorite things to do is get in the sea.
Where do you call home and what does “home” mean to you?
I live in Cork City, in the south of Ireland, in a cottage we believe is about 200 years old. It has needed plenty of care since we took it on, so there’s always another project waiting — but that’s part of its character. For me, home means sharing a meal with my wife, family or friends, with our dogs nearby. On a dark winter evening, lighting the fire, putting on a record and curling up on the couch is hard to beat.
What’s your favorite Wayfair product that you’ve purchased?
One of my favorite Wayfair purchases is this side table with storage, which we bought for my wife’s office. It fits the room well and is practical, so it’s become something she uses every day.
