Tell us about your role and responsibilities.

In my role, I oversee the day-to-day operations of Wayfair’s Home Delivery and Returns Departments in Romeoville. My primary focus is ensuring that our customers receive their orders with perfect quality and on-time delivery.

I also manage the returns process, working to ensure that returned items are evaluated and handled efficiently so that Wayfair can maximize value through resale or secondary channels. This involves close coordination with our teams to uphold quality standards, drive process improvements and support a seamless customer experience from delivery to potential return.

You’ve played a big role in improving Romeoville’s Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) and team engagement — what strategies or approaches have you found most effective in getting people involved?

I strongly believe in easing life's difficulties, both at Wayfair and beyond. My philosophy centers on meeting individuals with simple gestures like a greeting, which fosters open communication and a welcoming atmosphere. This approach encourages people to share thoughts they might otherwise keep private.

To understand what resonates, active listening and observation of engagement are crucial. Promoting initiatives, such as pod outings, relies on consistent communication through monthly Town Halls, start of shift talking points and Slack. Enhancing eNPS is a collective effort, and I am grateful to collaborate with dedicated colleagues who share the goal of creating a successful, safe and positive workplace.

In your experience, what makes a great work environment, and why is it so important?

Workplace safety is paramount in operations, and the collaborative network of peers and support is invaluable for ensuring safe practices. Beyond safety, a positive and energetic work environment is crucial, especially given the significant time spent at work. The constant drive to improve metrics and efficiency provides stimulating daily challenges.

I am particularly drawn to the dynamic nature of my work and, most importantly, my exceptional colleagues. Their intelligence and collaborative spirit make them the primary reason I enjoy this journey so much.

Can you share an example of a work event or initiative that you’re especially proud of?

My favorite event is the Habitat for Humanity setup and alignment. It's Romeoville's second year participating, and I appreciate the chance to give back to the community with my colleagues in a unique way. From a business standpoint, I'm particularly proud of developing a team that can overcome direct challenges.

I also want to highlight that one of my teams achieved notable success by winning the inaugural "Safety Super Bowl," a Wayfair competition made possible by Director John Hailers' innovative performance score engagement strategies.

This victory underscores the significance of promoting team engagement and connectivity, which kept the competition a central focus.

What do you enjoy most about working at Wayfair?

Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new. The continuous stream of novel problems and the collaborative effort to discover optimal solutions are key motivators for me. My biggest takeaway from working at Wayfair is that embracing change fosters better leadership. Giving yourself the space to acknowledge rapid developments, commit fully to improvement and offer candid feedback for process optimization yields significant rewards upon success.

I am also incredibly grateful for the support I've received through significant life events such as getting married and having my two children. The encouragement from my colleagues during each of these stages is a major reason why I love working here. The supportive network, both within and outside of work, enables me to be a present parent at home and a more effective leader at work.

What are you doing when you aren’t working?

I'm a summer enthusiast who loves spending time outdoors with my husband, two kids and our dog, Daisy Mae. My favorite activities include relaxing in our backyard, fishing and camping with my family, playing fetch with Daisy Mae and enjoying live music with friends on a patio. Anything that involves sunshine makes me happy, even mowing the lawn!
Who is someone who inspires you every day?

My mother is my inspiration. She is a courageous and strong woman who leads by example, demonstrating the importance of self-sufficiency and resilience. As Ada Lovelace has said, “Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”

What’s your favorite Wayfair product that you’ve purchased?

I have too many favorites to count! However, my Drenna Tufted Upholstery Manual Swivel Glider Recliner stands out as a cherished item, having been a part of both of my children's nurseries. It remains in our home, still rocking and rolling.
