What does Pride Month mean to you, both personally and professionally?
Personal: Reflection, gratitude and joy! I started attending Pride events about 25 years ago. Over the years I’ve danced, marched and pulled our daughter in a wagon along the parade route. There are so many joyful moments across the years – and I don’t take any one of them for granted.

Professional: Visibility – and a call to action! Visibility matters. It matters to folks who might still be in the closet. It matters to folks who might not know any gay, or LGBTQIA+ people. Pride month is an opportunity to be present, be visible and to take action to support our community.
What do initiatives and programs like Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at Wayfair mean to you?
ERGs are a terrific vehicle for making positive change, building community and having fun. They’re also a great way to expand your peer network here at the office. It’s helpful to meet folks from different orgs that do different things than you each day. These groups help open a window into new possibilities for your career. Joining an ERG can make a big company feel a bit smaller.
What’s something you've learned at Wayfair that you’ll carry with you throughout your career?

Be bold. Wayfairians think big, innovate and iterate – all at pace. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked at five companies; Wayfair moves fast, tries new and exciting ideas, and isn’t afraid to go big. This results in a culture of owners, experimentation, customer obsession and empowerment. It’s a wonderful thing that I’m excited to take with me for the rest of my career.
What are you doing when you aren’t working?
I like to hit the gym before work when I can. During the week, evenings are all about helping with homework, cooking dinner and treating myself to some down time (AppleTV brings the hits - Severance anyone?!).

Weekends are a mix of activities with my kiddo – fencing lessons, birthday parties, etc. When we have a free day I love to head for the hills, literally. I love going for a hike with my daughter. I also enjoy beach days on sunny days and visiting museums to ogle art on rainy days.
What’s one message you’d share with young LGBTQ+ professionals starting their careers?
LGBTQIA+ peers and leaders are everywhere. Find them, reach out and build your network. A strong network helps build your career and navigate thorny situations.
What's some advice you have for early career professionals?
In your first decade of working, you may end up working a job you don’t like. This is OK! Learning what you don’t like to do is just as valuable as learning what you love to do. A job or culture that’s not the perfect fit will be a great guidepost to help you find your next challenge, role or opportunity – you’ll soon be on a clearer path to better.
What’s your favorite Wayfair product that you’ve purchased (please include a link)?
My 18-year-old niece was looking to decorate her room for Christmas. Uncle Curtis delivered
this gem of a decorated tree – It was a big hit and brought lots of smiles. Oh, and a
Le Crueset dutch oven is a solid investment. Can highly recommend these to anyone and everyone.
