What aspect of Wayfair’s culture has shaped your growth?
If I had to pick the one piece of Wayfair’s culture that has shaped my journey the most, it’s definitely “Be an Owner.” I started here in 2023 with no recruiting experience, but within a few months, I was handed the reins to take full ownership of my hiring pipelines. That trust accelerated my development and allowed me to learn by doing. From my very first week, people asked for my recommendations and valued my perspective. As I’ve taken on more responsibility, the best part of the job has been that continued sense of ownership. It’s incredibly fulfilling to build something from scratch and watch it have a tangible impact on our team and the broader business.
What project or accomplishment are you most proud of during your time at Wayfair?
I think I am most proud of transitioning from a business analyst role to tech recruiting last year. This change involved learning a completely new side of the business, understanding new candidate profiles and building stakeholder relationships from scratch. I am proud of how I worked to understand this new scope, continued to innovate and improve and navigated a variety of challenges while still meeting my hiring goals.
What’s something about your team’s work that you wished more people knew about?
One thing I wish more people knew about our team’s work is how far ahead we’re always thinking. We’re not just hiring for today; we’re constantly evolving our assessments and piloting AI to stay at the forefront of the interview process. That forward-thinking approach also gives us a unique opportunity to connect with a growing pool of tech-native candidates. It’s exciting, innovative work that shapes not only who joins Wayfair, but also how the hiring process evolves.
What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
A fun fact about me is that I grew up as the child of a faculty member at a New England boarding school, which was a unique environment that shaped how I was raised.
Where do you call home and what does “home” mean to you?
I call both Boston and Mount Hermon, Massachusetts, home. To me, home is where my family and community are, and I’ve been lucky to have an incredibly supportive family in western Massachusetts and a wonderful, fun community of friends here in Boston.
What’s your favorite Wayfair product that you’ve purchased?
My favorite Wayfair purchase is my couch in Sea Salt Grey Corduroy. It’s incredibly comfortable and fits my space perfectly!
