What piece of advice would you give to new hires at Wayfair?
Be curious and never hesitate to ask questions early and often. Wayfair moves quickly, so staying adaptable and open to learning is incredibly important. The people who grow the most are the ones who collaborate with others, take initiative and embrace new challenges. There are many opportunities to learn and develop if you stay engaged and willing to try new things.
How does your team stay energized during the busy seasons?
We support one another and celebrate wins throughout the busy seasons, even the small ones. Strong communication and teamwork make a huge difference when things get hectic. We also make time for quick check-ins, sharing laughs and recognizing everyone’s hard work and contributions. That sense of support keeps morale high and helps us stay motivated.
What do you enjoy most about working at Wayfair?
The combination of the people and the fast paced environment are what make Wayfair such a great place to work. I am surrounded by smart, motivated teammates who genuinely want to help each other succeed. There is always something new to learn, which keeps the work exciting and engaging. I appreciate being part of a company where growth and collaboration are encouraged every day.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to do something where I could solve problems and make a meaningful impact. Over the years, the specific career changed quite a bit depending on my interests at the time. At different points, I wanted to be a teacher, a designer and even an attorney. Looking back, all of those careers shared a common theme of helping and connecting with people.
What are you doing when you aren’t working?
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me traveling. Whether I’m visiting my grown children, spending time with family or planning my next adventure, I’m always on the go. Most of all, I love being in the mountains, that’s my favorite place to recharge and take in the scenery.
What’s your favorite Wayfair product that you’ve purchased?
I’ve made many Wayfair purchases over the years, so it’s hard to choose just one favorite! Right now, I’d have to say the
Byer sofa. It completely transformed our game room and gave it the moody, cozy cigar-lounge vibe we were going for. It’s the perfect mix of style and comfort and it quickly became everyone’s favorite spot to relax.
