In downtown San Antonio, Texas, Esencia has debuted as a newly reimagined signature restaurant that honors the city’s past while confidently looking ahead. Set within the historic St. Anthony Hotel, a San Antonio icon since 1909 and part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, Esencia marks a new chapter for the landmark property.

The project brings together Perigold, Wayfair’s destination for luxury design and curated brands, and Wayfair Professional, the company’s dedicated solution for commercial clients and project-level service. Working entirely virtually with a local onsite designer, they supported the renovation of the 4,000-square-foot space from design through delivery, demonstrating how elevated hospitality spaces can be executed seamlessly, even at scale.

A Design Vision Rooted in Place

In partnership with Perigold Designer Bahar Habibi, the restaurant was reimagined with a bespoke design approach, drawing on Spanish-inspired influences that reflect San Antonio’s cultural context and architectural heritage.

The space was furnished with seating, lighting and décor primarily sourced through Wayfair Professional and Perigold, accounting for nearly 90% of the total furniture package. Each selection was made to support a cohesive environment that feels elevated while remaining grounded in the hotel’s historic setting.
