The Tree Trend Leaning Into Merry and Bright from Wayfair This Year

"As early holiday sales roll in, we’re seeing that people are ready to have some FUN! Folks are anticipating uber-festive holidays coming up, gathering with friends and family they may not have seen all together in years, and they want to go all out on the style- and fun-factor to mark the holidays while being mindful of overall spend," says Dee Fontenot, resident style advisor for Wayfair.

Wayfair customers have shown strong interest in “glam” holiday looks, seeking out trees made of tinsel or trees in colorful hues–especially in space-saving, narrower shapes. This 7’ slender white tree, for example, at under $100, has been a strong customer favorite for years. In August customers were already getting ahead of the holiday season, with searches for “tinsel trees” up by 40% year over year, and searches for "glam trees" up nearly 60% compared to this time last year.

“These glam trees make a can’t-miss statement and can be done up in many different ways to reflect personal style, which is part of their appeal,” explains Fontenot. “The holidays allow us to disconnect and live it up for a day, a few weeks–or really as long as that tree stays up. Going glam is all about bringing next-level excitement and joy to the holidays, so it’s understandable that this year, as we return to bigger celebrations, people want to turn up the volume on their festive decor.”
