Designer, Real Estate Broker, and HGTV star, Egypt Sherrod is a Powerhouse. She is CEO of the Indigo Road Family of Companies, which includes Indigo Road Realty, Indigo Road Design Group, and now she is bringing her brand of comfort and luxury to the customer’s doorstep with Indigo Road Home Furnishings – her debut collection in partnership with East at Main. The collection is a preempt to her full consumer product roll out and features a variety of accent furniture and home decor celebrating comfort, luxury, and sustainability. She also inked deals with York Wallpaper and Lichtenburg to round out her line with window coverings, wallcoverings, and luxe bedding by the end of 2024.

Known for her “Tough Love With A Hug”, HGTV fans have known Egypt for 18 seasons of real estate expertise. And finally, with her new show “Married To Real Estate,” fans have gotten to see a full 360 degree view of Egypt’s business and design chops. Egypt says her love of design first began when she was flipping her own investment properties and would design them herself instead of outsourcing. The more homes she did, the more addicted she became to the design process. She then evolved to offering staging services for her real estate client’s homes, and that rolled her into developing a design division within her firm.

Egypt has always been grounded in the importance of building something that embodies her morals and values of sustainability, community and creating access to luxury at an attainable price point. Her collection of products embodies these core values. To pour back into the community, she has partnered with female weavers. With a conscience for sustainability, she has the mango farmers collect mango wood that has fallen from the trees first and repurposes it for the industry, versus cutting from the tree first - all to create something beautiful, as seen with the Cyrus Drum Tables, and the popular Bianca Dining Table.

Egypt shares that the name for her business, Indigo Road, was inspired by her own personal journey. “I think when we often get to these spaces in life where things finally start to make sense for us, and we begin to understand why we had to grow through some of the rocky points in order to reach this beautiful space of wisdom and resilience. Indigo represents wisdom and purpose, and I am in that space of my life where I can appreciate the road I’ve traveled, even the rough patches. I believe we all have a road to follow in life as well as design- so we mind as well make it beautiful! Our home impacts our mood and should reflect how we want to feel and imprint on the world- it should be our sanctuary and safe place. My personal mission is to prove that luxury, comfort and sustainable design can co-exist in a holistic way that is livable and propels your life forward.”
