A home is more than just a place to live. It represents stability, dignity and for many families, a chance to start fresh. That’s the shared mission behind Wayfair’s partnership with the Chicago Bulls and collaboration with nonprofit Humble Design, which supports families in Chicago as they transition out of homelessness.
This partnership is grounded in a shared belief that thoughtful design can help build stronger communities. Humble Design works one-on-one with families to understand their needs and styles, turning empty spaces into warm, functional homes. Wayfair contributes furnishings that help bring each vision to life, while the Bulls use their platform to elevate organizations and programs, big and small, that are helping affect positive change in Chicago. Together, we’re working to make sure every family has a place that truly feels like home.
“Our families are able to settle into their home and their community, where they can lay down roots, establish a foundation and get off to a great fresh start,” said Trish Davies, Executive Director at Humble Design.
Our most recent project in Chicago supported Monique, a single mother of four, in setting up her family’s first fully furnished home. Bulls guard Talen Horton-Tucker participated in the process, helping select furnishings and surprising the family at their home reveal. “Being able to give back is always going to be something I focus on,” he said. “Hopefully this is something they will never forget.” Bulls General Manager Marc Eversley also showed up to surprise the family on their special day and invited them to a game next season.
For Monique and her children, the transformation was life-changing. “We never had a full house,” she said. “I just feel grateful and blessed that y’all did this for us.”
This initiative reflects Wayfair’s commitment to making home possible for everyone and demonstrates the power of purpose-driven collaborations to bring that vision to life.
