Creating Home Together: Wayfair Partners with the Chicago Bulls and Digs with Dignity

At Wayfair, we believe that everyone deserves to feel at home — and that belief was at the heart of our recent collaboration in Chicago, Illinois.

In partnership with the Chicago Bulls and Digs with Dignity, a local nonprofit that transforms empty housing into personalized homes for families emerging from homelessness, Wayfair helped furnish a new home for Collin Robinson, a U.S. Army veteran, and his two children just in time for Veterans Day.

Building a Home That Feels Personal

After returning home from Afghanistan, Collin found a new rhythm in life through music and channeled his passion into a career as an audio engineer. With that in mind, the Wayfair team worked closely with him to create a home that feels welcoming and supports his creativity. A highlight of the project: a dedicated audio room where Collin can relax, reconnect and keep building his dream.

Each room in the home was designed with purpose, turning an empty space into a reflection of Collin and his children — from Collin’s audio room, to his kids’ race car and unicorn-themed bedrooms, to a kitchen thoughtfully crafted to support Collin’s love of cooking.

“I’m already looking forward to the day we move this family in,” said Megan Lawrence, brand partnerships manager at Wayfair. “I just know it’s going to be the most rewarding minute of that day.”

A Shared Commitment to Community

For Wayfair, partnerships like this go beyond furniture to focus on fostering connection and belonging. The Bulls’ commitment to giving back locally and Digs with Dignity’s expertise in helping families through transition made this collaboration especially meaningful.

With Wayfair’s first-ever retail store nearby in Wilmette, IL, the Chicago area has quickly become a community we’re proud to call home.

"Supporting Chicago means uplifting those who work every day to better our community," said Adrienne Scherenzel, Chicago Bulls vice president of community engagement. "Helping Collin and his family transition and settle into their new home demonstrates the powerful impact we can have on our city when we are united through a shared purpose."

Continuing the Mission

Wayfair’s commitment to supporting families in transition doesn’t stop here. We’re committed to partnering with organizations like Digs with Dignity to help even more families build the safe, stable homes they deserve.
